Our story
Sergio Jorge joined Sunrise Factory Distributors at the end of 1989 after completing his national service. He worked at the City Deep market wholesale outlet for 12 years. After completing a diploma in business management, Sergio decided to start his new venture, Sunrise Sweets Pretoria.
Sunrise Sweets Pretoria opened on 30 November 2002. The area was fairly untouched as far as sweet wholesalers go. Great determination and perseverance ensured steady growth and the Pretoria store is now a major player amongst the independent wholesalers.
In September 2005 the Sunrise Sweets Roodepoort concept store was opened and headed up by Raquel Jorge. With degrees in law, B Proc and LLb from Rand Afrikaans University and eight years experience in the corporate world, Raquel brought more structure and procedures to the business. She introduced formal staff training concentrating on customer relations and improved levels of service.
Sunrise Sweets Pretoria offers an incredible mix of products with stock ranging from imported to local, novelty to mainstream. It also provides a wonderful shopping experience catering for the serious business owner to the family shopper. Weekend trade offers entertainment for all, including train rides on Sunrise Express and many fun outside activities with clowns, magicians, etc.
Trading hours are: Monday-Friday from 08h00-17h00, Saturday from 08h00-14h00 and Sunday from 09h00-13h00.
Sunrise Sweets Roodepoort is an upmarket store with a modern and innovative setup. Situated next to Builders Warehouse in Strubens Valley, Sunrise Sweets Roodepoort carries an exclusive range of chocolates and novelties as well as the entire standard range of local and imported confectionery. It is open to buyers and the general public.
Trading hours are: Monday-Friday from 08h00-18h00 and Saturday from 09h00-15h00.
